The scientific programme will comprise of interesting topics including recent genetic, immunological, microbiological and clinical developments in the field of GI disorders, liver diseases, and nutrition. There will be plenty of opportunities to discuss and share our clinical research field interests, to present original work, to see old friends, and to meet new colleagues.

As the former capital city of three successive empires, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman, it is a fascinating mixture of different cultures, civilizations and religions. A Bosphorus cruise tour along the shoreline will let you see palaces from the late Ottoman period, as well as beautiful 19th and 20th Century wooden kiosks, mansions and modern villas. Istanbul has been nominated as the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2010. The Congress venue is located in the heart of the city's business and cultural centre, within walking distance to the congress hotels. This allows easy access to municipal, domestic and international transportation networks.
