This book sets forth our views of what accounting standards for business enterprises throughout the world should be. As discussed in detail in our book, Objectives of Financial Statements for Business Enterprises ( 1972 ), we believe that the overall objectives of Financial Statements is to communicate information concerning the nature and value of the economic resources of a business enterprise, teh interests of creditors and the equity of owners in the economic resources, and the changes in the nature and value of those resources from period to period.
