Prof. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu, an international scholar of the history of science and culture, is currently the Secretary General of the 57-member Organisation of the Islamic Conference (01C). His contributions to academic research and international cooperation: covering various fields of Islamic studies, have been seminal, as reflected in his accomplishments during his mission as the founding Director General of the Research Centre for Islamic History: Art and Culture, IRCICA (1980 - December 2004), the founding chairman of several academic institutions and associations, among others.
This book is presented to Prof. İhsanoğlu as an expression of gratitude, by scholars and researchers, his colleagues and friends from academic, diplomatic, cultural and art circles around the world.
Volume I consists of fourty-five essays by scholars and specialists from various social science disciplines. ki The thernes of this volume correspond, by and large, to Prof. İhsanoğlu's fields of interest.
Volume Il contains the views and souvenirs of personalities from all circles who have known and collaborated with İhsanoğlu', as well as his bibliography.
