Isabelle de Borchgrave, a Belgian painter and designer, established her studio in Brussels where she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. Rita who collaborates with Isabelle, studied costume design history and design in London. For thirty years, she has worked as a theatrical costumier mainly with the Shaw Festival Theatre in Ontario.
Isabelle's scene on paper gives a superb reflection of the infinite variety of shape and form to be found throughout the history of textiles. She presents us in this exhibition with three-dimentional work of exceptional quality on the understanding of historic materials and modern day shapes and forms.
