Serinin ilk 5 cildi, İstanbul şubesinin 2003 ve 2004 yıllarında düzenlediği uluslararası konferans ve workshop'larda sunulan bildirilere ayrılmıştır. Byzas yeni sayılarında, toplantı bildirilerinin yanı sıra monografik çalışmalara da yer verecek. Seri adını İstanbul'un efsanevi kurucusu Megaralı Byzas'tan almıştır.

Bu cild 20-22 Mayıs 2004'te İstanbul'da Clemens Lichter ve Recep Meriç'in organizasyonuyla düzenlenen uluslararası workshop'ta sunulan bildirilere ayrılmıştır.
