“.... I know now how to protect myself by making use of women's rights...I can stand on my own before men without being defeated. The only thing that makes me weak against men, however, is my illiteracy. In our society's words, I live in ignorance. Sometimes, I feel pessimistic and think that I could be one of the women who has a job and education. Maybe, my words could be taken seriously not just by my husband only after I have already born four children, have gone through all the difficulties of life and have developed a late consciousness; but rather I have the feeling that I could have become a woman who would have been able to effectively address and influence her community and society. Still I am proud of having developed a consciousness of women's rights, living in such a society, even though it came at a later time."
