Architecture in Turkey from the Seljuks to the Republic brings together forty-one articles written by Aptullah Kuran between 1961 and 1994, during his distinguished academic career. Exploring the changing architectural traditions of a vast region for over a millennium, it identifies how various social, cultural and political patterns shaped architectural expression during the Anatolian-Seljuk, Ottoman and Republican eras. It is illustrated with more than 500 drawings, plans, and maps, most from the Aptullah Kuran Archive at Boğaziçi University.
