Belgium is a small country, well-known for its rich traditions and huge diversity, both in terms of geography and gastronomy. The same enor- mous variety can also be found in the beer tradition. Although many small brewers have disappeared over recent decades, there are still at least a hundred breweries left offering a vast range of beers. Some of these are only brewed locally, whilst others are known the world over.
